Jokes Please! is an award-winning stand-up comedy show that happens every Thursday at Little Mountain Gallery. Special delivery this week: JOKES!

History tells us that the first mail was delivered in 2400 BC (or so). Records are unclear but they likely delivered fewer electricity bills back then and more abacus sales pamphlets.

In the Middle Ages pigeons were the predominant mail (and disease) carriers. The system was successful until HR realized their employees were flying NUDE all the time, that wouldn't do. The mandatory bird uniforms however cute, really hindered the flight of all but the most robust pigeon. Workplace pigeon injuries skyrocketed and the program was scrapped in 1898. With no transition profession for the pigeons many out-of-work birds moved to downtown city centres to eat crumbs, defecate in public and to think about the days when THEY CONTROLLED INFORMATION! It’s enough to make any species go a little off.

The age of Email is yet to be documented by history but it is likely a fad.

The age of the pneumatic tubes was brief. Mostly just one rich dude thought it would neat. He was right, it was neat! That sound: FFFFFPPHHHHHOOOOOOOMPPTT! So satisfying!
