Paro - Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery- Jele Dzong-Jangchulakha - Langrithang -Tsaluna-Thimphu - Punakha-Paro

Detailed Itenary :-
19 Mar - Day 1: Arrive Paro, Elev 2280m The flight to Paro crosses the Himalayan Mountains, affording spectacular views of the awesome peaks, including the sacred Jumolhari and Jichu Drake peaks in Bhutan. On arrival you will be greeted by the guide and transferred to the hotel. After lunch, visit Rinpung Dzong meaning “fortress of the heap of jewels". It has a long and fascinating history. Along the wooden galleries lining the courtyard of the Rinpung Dzong are fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist lore. You will walk downhill till the road point crossing the wooden bridge. Your vehicle will be waiting here to take you to Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. In the evening, you can stroll through Paro town. Walking through the market and meeting with the people will be an enjoyable experience. Overnight hotel in Paro.
20 Mar - Day 2: Acclimatization hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery After breakfast hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, Bhutan's most famous monastery, which stands at 3180m gives you acclimatization for the next day’s trek. The 8th century Spiritual Master, Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. It is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. Lunch will be served in the Cafeteria Restaurant, located about halfway up on the mountain. 21 Mar - Day 3: Paro-Jele Dzong (10 km, 4-5 hours, ascent 1090m.) Trek starts Today is a short trekking day. The day starts with a short climb to Jele Dzong. The trek trail is rather gradual up till the camp and if the weather is clear the Paro valley can be seen with snow-capped mountains behind. Above the camp is Jele La Dzong (3,400m) and Jele Dzong is mostly in ruins and there is a Lhakhang with the statute of Buddha Sakyamuni. Overnight camp at 3300m.
22 Mar - Day 4: Jele Dzong-Jangchulakha (10 km, 4 hours, ascent 310m, descent 50m.) Begin with an hour and half climb and then ascend gradually up. The trail takes you through thick alpine forests and rhododendrons and arrives at the Jangchulakha. After walking for some time, you will arrive at the campsite, which offers scenic views beneath. You can also see yak herders around your campsite (3600m).
23 Mar - Day 5: Jangchulakha-Langrithang (15 km, 4-5 hours, ascent 330m, descent 310m.) After a short climb trail follows a ridge, which on a clear day you can have sensational views of Mont Jumolhari and other Himalayan ranges. After a short descent, you will arrive at Jimilangtsho Lake (3700m) where you will be served your lunch. Then the trail descends further down to Langrithang through fir forests. Overnight camp at 3500m.
24 Mar - Day 6: Langrithang-Tsaluna-Thimphu (11 km, 4 hours, descent 800m) Trek ends The trail takes you through forests of fir and rhododendrons following the stream and arrives at Tsaluna Monastery (sacred site of Guru Rinpoche from 8th century). Further down, you will reach Tsaluna Village, were you can see beautiful farms. After few hours of leisurely walk, you can ride the car to Thimphu. In the evening, you can stroll through Thimphu town and absorb the lifestyle of the people. Overnight hotel in Thimphu.
25 Mar - Day 7: Thimphu-Punakha After breakfast this morning, enjoy the scenic drive to Punakha with a stop for tea at Dochu La (3,100 meters), where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the Himalayas. From the pass, drive downhill through the forests of rhododendron, fir and hemlock. You will arrive at Punakha after traversing through rice field and along the bank of Punakha River. On the way, you will stop at Metshina Village and take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, which is a fertility temple dedicated to the Devine Madman or Lama Drukpa Kuenley. If you wish, receive the blessing from the Lama’s wooden phallus! After lunch, visit the Punakha Dzong, which is stunningly situated in between the male and female rivers like an anchored ship. Overnight hotel in Punakha.
26 Mar - Day 8: Punakha-Paro Today we will drive to Paro via Dochula lass. On arriving at Dochula, visit the new Druk Wangyal Monastery, which is the only of its kind in the country with elaborate paintings depicting the lineage of the present monarchy and their visionary works. You will stop in Thimphu for lunch. After lunch, you will continue drive to Paro. Overnight hotel in Paro.
27 Mar - Day 9: Depart Paro In the morning. Meetup ends.
