This week we're stirring up a storm like never before - Catch Berlin-based duo of Alessandro and Federico Fognini, together known as the international tech phenomenon Mind Against and Canadian breath of fresh techno air - DEIAN!

About the artists:
Mind Against: Expressing a musical venture which draws from the combined roots of IDM, house and techno, Mind Against are the Italian-born, Berlin-based duo of Alessandro and Federico Fognini.

Their gift for creating emotion through the synths and percussive instruments in their studio translates uniquely onto the dancefloor, where their slick, moving take on techno makes for a special kind of peak in the club. They draw from the psychedelic hooks of 1980s soundtracks and from modern dance music’s emphasis on sound design to create a distinctive and immensely powerful sound.All the while, they have become consumate and globally in-demand DJs, dazzling at many of electronic music’s leading clubs and festivals. Their understanding of each other plays out in the dynamism of their joint DJ sets, where a refined selection and intricate mixing forms a journey like no other.

Arsh (Resident Anarchist): At a time when people from entirely different sub-cultures and prototypes of music are finding common ground in the form of sexy sounds and fresh electronic beats Arsh is giving them exactly what they need – Groovy, Intelligent dance music.

He believes that playing music with this level of intensity is one of the only ways left to push the existential boundaries that all our minds seem to be ridden with, further into the realm of non-existence. He believes that the very essence of this music lies in its lack of boundaries and will probably never stop till he’s opened enough minds to the madness that lies latent within us all.

Deian: Deian Markov is the founder of international artist management and event agency, The Artist Network. His sister, who was part of the Toronto rave movement in the mid 1990’s, first introduced Deian to electronic music. His
interest was sparked, and he began playing around with her eclectic record collection. Having laid his hands on
vinyl first, Deian quickly realized that being a DJ was not easy in those days.

Throughout 2013/14 The Artist Network brought in some serious talent to the region including Carl Craig,
Recondite, Tale Of Us, Pan-Pot, Stephan Bodzin, Jay Haze, Anja Schneider, Ellen Allien, Bob Moses, Mind
Against, Butch, Konrad Black, Marc Romboy, Robert Babicz, Steve Bug, Dj Koze, Droog, Damian Lazarus,
Watergate Berlin, Catz n' Dogz and many many more. Deian had the opportunity to play along side these artists
at a multitude of different venues and created strong working relationships for future collaborations. Over this
period of time Deian has been able to master diversifying his sound and tailoring his sets seamlessly to fit within
the unique characteristics of each venue and crowd he plays for while keeping his trademark sound at the
forefront.
