Вечеринка: Auditions for Shows at Skinny Improv/Monk's Social Club

Skinny Improv Prodctions and Monks Social Club announces General Auditions for Upcoming Shows.

The Skinny Improv is back from their comedy vision quest, and is looking to cast a ton of great, new, creative and innovative shows for regular performances at Monk's Social Club, which will be opening Spring of 2018.

We will be looking for improvisers, actors, comedians, sketch writers, sketch comedy actors, and anyone who would like to pioneer a new vision for comedy in Springfield.

We want to give all types of comedy a playground to grow and develop the already vibrant comedy scene in Springfield. We're looking to build the Springfield comedy community and you're awesomeness is needed.

General auditions will be Sunday, March 18 at 6:00 PM, at Monk’s Social Club, located at 504 W College in downtown Springfield, MO.

Here’s a totally non-comprehensive list of shows we're looking to cast:

Musical Improv Show
Directed by Jeff Jenkins
It’s an improvised musical! It’s in the name!
Improv experienced preferred, but not required. Please prepare your favorite commercial jingle. An accompanist will not be present.

Improvised D&D: A Tabletop RPG Parody
Directed By Katy Meeks
It’s a live improvised parody of a Dungeons and Dragons game!
Improv experienced preferred, but not required.

Vaudeville Show
...is looking for magicians, actors with strong comic sense, burlesque dancers, odd skills/activities and anyone and everyone who wants to be a part of an amazingly unique comedy show that tips its hat to the early days of live comedy.

Sketch Comedy
Directed by Jeff Jenkins
Looking for actors and writers. Writers: please bring a writing sample(s), preferably of a comedy sketch. Auditioning actors will read from scripts, including those brought by auditioning writers.

Improv Shows- these are other shows that are currently in development or that we may have need for in the near future

Auditions will consist of cold readings for those auditioning for sketch acting, improv games for auditioning improvisers, and a short personal interview for all.

Our aim is to launch the next evolution in Springfield comedy and entertainment. We've done it once before. Something bigger is on the horizon for Springfield, just as there was in 2002 when The Skinny Improv first debuted.

Please sign up by sending an email with a headshot and resume and any questions to the attention of Jeff Jenkins at [email protected]

See you there!
