Safety Education officers will present presentations on navigation and safety equipment. The hands on sessions provide interested boaters with essential navigation skills to stay safe and confidence to check and activate safety equipment.

New to these seminars will be the ability for skippers to hand in out of date flares and an opportunity to set one off if no more than 6 months out of date
.
• The sessions take about 70 minutes and examine the following but can be modified to suit club/organisation and participant interests; Safety equipment checking and maintenance – EPIRBs, flares, life jackets, anchors, radios
• Basic chart work – interpreting charts, IALA system
• Experience flare demonstrations
• Inflatable life jacket activation, maintenance and care
