BEGINNER/INTRODUCTION WORKSHOPS FOR BEGINNERS AND IMPROVERS
SUNDAY 25th JUNE

These workshops are suitable for complete beginners and newer dancers who to want to get to grips with 6 & 8 Count Lindy Hop. They are also excellent for more experienced dancers who want to master their basics and perfect their technique. It is also recommended for dancers who have done other swing styles and want to get to grips with this authentic "Hollywood Style" of Lindy Hop. These workshops are designed to teach and reinforce social dance skills, therefore we insist on partner rotation in these workshops.

INTRO TO 6 COUNT LINDY HOP (11am - 1.30pm)
An intensive workshop designed to give you a basic grounding in Lindy Hop. Based around Lindy Hop & Jitterbug as it was originally danced in the 1940s, this workshop will teach you a selection of 6 count moves, lead and follow techniques, rhythm, footwork, movement and styling necessary to feel confident on the dance floor. The workshop is two and a half hours long (including short breaks) and is designed ideal for complete beginners, people who want to consolidate their basics or for people who have done other swing styles and want to get to grips with this authentic "Hollywood Style" dance.

INTRO TO 8 COUNT LINDY HOP (2.15pm - 4.45pm)
This workshop is based around the 8 count rhythm pattern and in particular The Whip (or Lindy Turn) which is the foundation of the dance. We start from first principles teaching, lead and follow techniques, rhythm, footwork, movement and styling.
