Watch a classic movie, enjoy a tasty lunch and take part in a fun dance workshop!

We're working with The Courtyard Hereford on this dance of dance and film.

The day starts with a screening of the classic film Easter Parade (U) starting Judy Garland and Fred Astaire, followed by a delicious buffet lunch. Then Dancefest will lead two creative dance workshops inspired by the film.

1pm lunch
1:45pm Workshop 1: For those aged 55+ (90 minutes)
1:45pm Workshop 2: For those who would prefer a shorter, seated dance experience (45 minutes)

When Don Hewes’ (Astaire) dance partner deserts him in order to pursue her own career, the Broadway idol braggingly makes a bet that he can make any chorus girl into a star. Almost at random he chooses Hannah Brown (Garland). After trying unsuccessfully to turn Hannah into a version of his previous partner, Don comes to recognise Hannah’s unique talents and the pair embark on a career of their own. Among the musical highlights are Astaire’s slow-motion version of Steppin’ Out, and the famous Astaire/Garland duet We’re a Couple of Swells. This is light, whimsical, entertainment featuring two all-time greats in Garland and Astaire.
